It's OK To Crawl Before You Walk

I'm a type A person through and through.  Let me tell you why I think that.  For starters, the fact that I need to write out a list to convince you that I'm type A kind of proves my point.  I love a good list.  If I do something that's not on the list, you guessed it, I write it on the list just to have the pleasure of crossing it off.  When I want something done, I want it done yesterday.  Patience is not a virtue to me, it's actually pretty irritating...something I work on daily, thank you my children!!  When I decide to do something, I...

I Didn't See Any Of That Coming

I Didn't See Any Of That Coming

I haven't blogged for a while because...well...it's summer and I have kids running in 10 different directions (even though I only have 5 kids, it feels like 10 different directions).  Anyway, I wanted to share about the trade show I just did last weekend. I was scheduled to travel to Tulsa, OK on Thursday and do a 3 day show that ended on Sunday.  Originally my husband and I were going to do it together however, our 8 year old was going to camp that same weekend for the first time and we didn't want both of us to leave town...

My Whole Story (The Condensed Version)

I am a wife and SAHM to 5 daughters.  In February 2013, we all went on a family vacation only to come home with E-coli bacteria.  We were all fine except our second oldest daughter (9 at the time) who spent 6 weeks at Children's Mercy.  What was happening to her was, the bacteria was attacking most of her major organs.  Immediately her kidney's stopped functioning, followed by her brain (which landed her in the PICU for a couple days), then her lungs and heart.  Thankfully everything recovered except her kidney's.  After 6 long weeks in the hospital she came home...

The Collegiate Licensing Process (And I Do Mean Process)

Since I redesigned the HOLSTR and added the larger Velcro strap across the front, I knew I wanted college logos on there at some point but how to do that, I just didn't know.  Back in March I called the person in charge of licensing and trademarks at Kansas University to ask about acquiring the license.  He directed me to the CLC website and said filling out the application was required for everyone.  I got online and was bummed to find out that this wasn't a simple application.  I filled it out the best I could, uploaded my credit report, uploaded HOLSTRit's financial statement, uploaded my label hang tag,...

Why Am I Blogging Anyway?

Why Am I Blogging Anyway?

Before February 2013, if you told me I'd be blogging about anything, I wouldn't have believed you.  In fact, I never read blogs because I assumed people weren't real.  I thought it was too easy to make yourself or your life look better than it was to other people who don't even see you, (remember I wasn't even on Facebook at the time for the same reasons). Why the change in 2013?  Well, my kiddo got sick.  Just a few days into her hospital stay my aunt suggested that I start a Caring Bridge page to keep people updated on how we were doing.  The only experience I had with Caring Bridge before that...
